Welcome to the New York State Masters site.  The new site is currently under construction, but we do have the 2010 schedule posted.  Stay tuned for a new & improved website!

Masters ski racing is the premier adult ski racing series in the country. We are governed by United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA), the sanctioning body in the United States for organized ski racing at all levels, from juniors through international and Olympic competition.

For adult, NASTAR, club racers, and good skiers in general, masters ski racing provides challenging competition within an atmosphere of fun and camaraderie. We welcome racers of all levels; from beginners to former racers and Olympians. Racers range in age from 18 to over 80 years old, competing in five-year age groups (eg. 25-29, 30-34, 35-40, etc.).  The competition is exhilarating!

New York State Masters races are held at ski areas in central and western New York. Most race days consist of 2 complete races (4 runs) and are usually completed in early afternoon, leaving plenty of time for free skiing and an awards party. Please see this season’s  race schedule. With about 60 racers attending most events, there is little standing around and lots of time to hone your skills on the race course. You will find a group of people who enjoy the thrill of going fast, and are eager to welcome new racers to the fun and challenge of alpine racing. Our racers go out of their way to make every racer’s experience enjoyable, by offering advice and encouragement to all. We socialize on and off the slopes, even in the summer!
